Largest gourami in the world

The giant gourami is the largest gourami in the world. To find out whether it’s male or female, you can look at the size of its lips and the shape of its dorsal fin. The female has thicker lips and the male has a larger dorsal fin that ends in a tip.

Reproduction

The nests containing the eggs of the giant gourami can be gigantic. They sometimes can reach a diameter of 50 cm and a height of 20 cm. Just try to imagine how many eggs a nest can contain!
