Boa contrictor

Giant snake

Many people fear this giant snake. That is not without reason. The boa constrictor can notably grow up to four metres in length! Fortunately, the snake is not interested in human flesh, but snacks on small rodents.

Camouflaged skin

The boa constrictor prefers not to be noticed during the day, when recovering from its nightly expeditions. That’s why it has a camouflaged skin. Its olive-green skin sports dark egg-shaped spots. This pattern makes the boa constrictor invisible when hanging in a tree or resting among the leaves on the ground. Isn’t that smart?

Did you know…

The boa constrictor lives behind the scenes in Pantropica? You can meet this jungle terror during the shows in the Jungle Theatre.
