Stick insect

Not so friendly

The typifying name speaks for itself: the stick insect looks like a little tree branch with legs. This look-a-like might seem very friendly, but the male will raise its hind legs and show its two enormous thorny barbs when threatened. He will give his assailant a painful pinch if the latter comes too close.

Did you know…

The stick insect lives behind the scenes in Pantropica? You can meet this jungle terror during the shows in the Jungle Theatre.
