Did you know…

The Pankong River’s basin contains more than 300,000 litres of water and is a comfortable habitat for the tropical fish with an average water temperature of 27°C. Algae eaters contribute to keeping the basin clean. This benthic inhabitant feeds on plankton and various species of algae. In doing so, it prevents the excessive growth of algae.

Must-see: the ‘freshwater shark’

There is a significant possibility that you might spot the Pangasius sanitwongsei or giant pangasius in the Pankong River. Due to its imposing appearance, this predator is sometimes also referred to the ‘freshwater shark’. It originally inhabited the Mekong, one of the largest rivers in Asia and our main source of inspiration for the construction of this aquarium.
