Pantropica breeds a number of tropical butterflies in its caterpillar nursery, where you can admire the exceptional life cycle of the butterflies. The other butterfly species, about 55 of them, are imported from Costa Rica and the Philippines. The caterpillar is shipped by airmail once it has pupated. Once it arrives in Pantropica, the chrysalis is suspended in one of the chrysalis cases. The chrysalis will burst open would within two weeks and the butterfly can begin its adventure!
