Yes, Pantropica is entirely indoors. All continents, the restaurant, and the shop are covered by a single roof. Hence, your stay with us will always be comfortable, even in adverse weather conditions.
Dogs are welcome on our premises, provided that you adequately walk your dog in advance at the car park and keep the animal on a leash on our premises. Dogs are not allowed in the Lori Bush. There is a special route around the outside of the aviary. Our restaurant will also welcome your dog. However, we kindly ask that you do not bring your dog along to the self-service buffet as this is against hygiene regulations.
Park visit
Visitors spend a half day in Pantropica on average. However, the length of your visit is not restricted.
Schedule your visit outside weekends and holiday periods for the most peaceful visit possible.
Pantropica offers a fully covered outing. Hence, there is no need for a (winter) coat. You can leave your coat in our public cloakroom at your arrival.
Please note! The Flamingo Lagoon is the only outdoor continent of Pantropica. You’ll remain dry during your walk through this continent, although it might be a bit chilly during the winter months.
Unfortunately, Pantropica does not offer safety deposit boxes at this time.
You receive a free map of our park when you buy an admission ticket or submit your e-ticket at the entrance to the continents. Here, you can also consult this floor plan online.
Yes, indeed! Pantropica offers various playgrounds.
Children can go wild in PanAvontura, a large water-rich playground in the centre of the park.
Young adventurers can come into their own in Aart’s Jungle Playground, adjacent to the Pantropica Bar & Restaurant.
No, there is a smoking ban throughout the premises. While, there is no smoking area in our park, there is a covered one outside in front of the entrance of Pantropica.
Yes, indeed! Effective 2 February 2024, Orchideeën Hoeve was renamed Pantropica. Tickets, gift vouchers, and season tickets that were already purchased are therefore still valid in accordance with the validity of the purchase in question.

We limit the number of visitors per day and starting time. We therefore recommend that you reserve your visit in advance to avoid your desired date / starting time being sold out. You can easily order your tickets online or make reservations by telephone.
No, there is no need to print out the tickets. However, you must be able to legibly display the barcode of the tickets on a smartphone or a tablet so that they can be scanned.
You must reserve a starting time when you purchase your visit or reserve the date for your visit. This starting time applies to when you set out on the trail through the park. This makes it possible for us to properly organise your visit and for you to enjoy a wonderful and relaxed day out. The length of your visit is not restricted. However, stay on the one-way route and comply with the instructions of our employees.
Children up to and including 2 years old can enter free of charge but must be specified in your reservation.
Food & drinks
You can order food and/or beverages in Pantropica Bar & Restaurant, our cosy Citrusbar ‘Pura Vida’ and the bistro ‘Sakura’ in Hanami Flowerpark. Sweets and beverage dispensers have also been placed in a number of the continents. Pantropica does not permit the consumption of foodstuffs that you have brought with you.
Pantropica Bar & Restaurant is accessible free of charge. ‘De Sakura’ Bistro can be accessed only with a valid admission ticket.

Annual tickets
You can order annual passes at our reception desk. Our receptionist will take your photo on the spot. Hence, there is no need to bring a passport photo.
An annual pass to Pantropica is personal and valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Pantropica’s annual passes are personal and non-transferable. Each pass carries a photo of the season ticket holder.
Season-ticket holders can visit Pantropica without reservation.* The season ticket will be scanned at the ticket control. Do you want to bring along someone without a season ticket? In that case, reserve your guest’s or guests’ visit via our website.
Your season ticket will be activated at your first visit. This is why your ticket does not display a term of validity.
A season ticket does not offer free access to the candlelight evenings in December. However, season-ticket holders can buy tickets with a discount for these special evening events.
You can easily renew your season ticket at the reception desk. It is recommended that you do this at the next visit, so that you can optimally benefit of the year your ticket is valid.

The Panmarket is open seven days a week and accessible free of charge.
Groups
Yes, that is certainly possible. You can obtain information for group packages (10 persons or more) at our reception. You must make reservations for groups of 10 persons or more.
You must make a reservation in advance if you want to make use of a group package, combination trip, or school trip. Do you just want to visit the park with a group? In that case, it is not necessary to make a reservation. You can buy the tickets at group rates at our reception desk on the day itself. Note: group tickets and packages must be paid in full at once.
You can make use of our admission prices for groups if you visit Pantropica with a group of ten or more adults. The discount depends on the number of persons. See the current prices here.
People with disabilities
There are plenty of opportunities for discovering our tropical park when you use a wheelchair, scooter or rolling walking frame. The entire main route, displayed on our map, is wheelchair-accessible. However, please take into account that a few trails have been enriched with adventurous aspects. Examples are clinker-brick paving and hills. Our park offers several toilets and parking spaces for people with disabilities.
There are a limited number of wheelchairs available that can be used by our disabled visitors. If you would like to use one of those wheelchairs, please contact our reception, telephone +31 (0)527-202875.
Pantropica charges special rates for wheelchair attendants and chaperones in groups of 10 persons or more. Request the prices via our reception desk.
In front of Pantropica’s entrance, there are 10 parking spaces for people with disabilities.
Parking & public transport
There is adequate parking space in front of Pantropica. Parking is free of charge.
The nearest train station is the Steenwijk station. From there, you can take bus route 76 in the direction of Marknesse and dismount in front of Pantropica. On weekends, Pantropica cannot be reached by public transport. While there is a recharging point for e-bikes on the right hand side of the entrance, we cannot offer the same convenience for electric cars.
In front of Pantropica’s entrance, there are 10 parking spaces for people with disabilities.
You can park your camper van free of charge in our car park. Would you like to spend the night? In that case, contact our reception desk to receive an overnight stay voucher.
Photography
Of course, you are allowed to take photos at Pantropica for personal purposes. You are allowed to take photos or record film for personal use, as long as you do not inconvenience other visitors, animals or staff.
Recording video clips and professional photo shoots are not allowed at Pantropica. Do you want to make recordings for a TV programme, vlog or article to promote our park? Contact us via info@pantropica.nl or on +31 (0)527-202875 to make a reservation.
You can have your wedding pictures taken in Pantropica even when you’re not getting married there. Reserve your photo shoot in advance via our reception desk.
Wedding photo shoots can begin between 09:30 and 10:00 or after 15:00 on weekends and holidays. On weekdays, other times are possible subject to consultation.
The fee for a wedding photo shoot is € 74.50. This amount includes the entrance fee for the bride, bridegroom, and photographer. For all other guests, you must reserve admission tickets separately.
Winter Dream
What is Winter Dream?
During Winter Dream, from 1 December 2025 up to and including 4 January 2026, Pantropica is transformed into a magical winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights, tasteful decorations, and cosy live music. In addition, during Winter Dream, you can buy the most fun December presents at our Winter Fair. PLEASE NOTE! The Winter Fair takes place from 6 up to and including 23 December 2025.
Tip! Do you want to make the most of the enchanting ambience in the park? In that case, schedule your visit in the afternoon and take an additional tour through the park as soon as dusk sets in!
This year, the candlelight evenings are scheduled on 6, 9 , 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2025, 2 and 3 January 2026. On those evenings, our Christmas elves light the candles at 16:30 and we remain open until 21:30. The candlelight evenings can only be attended with a combo ticket or a candlelight evening ticket. The park is accessible until 15:30 for day tickets.
The candlelight evenings are 18 special evening events that are part of Winter Dream. On 6, 9 , 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2025, 2 and 3 January 2026, our Christmas elves will ignite thousands of little candles, lamps, and lanterns around 16:30, and the park will remain open until 21:30.
Day ticket
A day ticket grants you access to the park during the day, but not to a candlelight evening. On 6, 9 , 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2025, 2 and 3 January 2026, the entrance gate will be closed to day tickets from 15:30 for the candlelight evening.
Combo ticket
A combo ticket grants you access to the park during the day as well as during the candlelight evening.
Candlelight evening tickets
The candlelight evening tickets grants you access to the park only in the evening. Therefore, you can only attend the candlelight evening with a combo or evening ticket, which allows you to remain in the park until 21:30.
A combo ticket grants you access to the park during the day as well as in the evening. A combo ticket is obtainable only for the afternoon starting times from 14:00 to 16:00.
A season ticket does not grant free access to the candlelight evenings on 6, 9 , 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2025, 2 and 3 January 2026. Season-ticket holders can order tickets for these special evening events with a season-ticket holder discount.
A day trip for season-ticket holders is free of charge and does not require reservations. Please note! On candlelight-evening days, 6, 9 , 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2025, 2 and 3 January 2026, the entrance gate will close from 15:30.
Would you like to visit the park in the afternoon as well as in the evening? If so, select a combo ticket, available for the slots from 14:00 to 16:00. A combo or evening ticket grants you access to the park until 21:30.
This year, you can visit the Winter Fair from 6 up to and including 23 December 2025. This year’s Winter Fair takes place in a new venue in the park: the Orangerie. Consequently, you can only visit the Winter Fair in combination with a visit to the park. This does require a valid admission ticket.
